Distributor Mouser Electronics has inked a global distribution agreement with Broadcom and will carry the semiconductor company’s line of ICs.
With the agreement, Mouser will become Broadcom’s first e-commerce distributor, offering same-day shipping on a variety of Broadcom’s mass market products, including its wireless Internet connectivity for embedded devices (WICED) platform. Broadcom’s WICED Wi-Fi and WICED smart development platforms are used for a broad range of Internet of Things (IoT) innovations.
"Mouser is thrilled to serve as Broadcom’s first online catalog distributor,” said Jeff Newell, Mouser senior vice president of products, in a statement. He added Mouser’s partnership with Broadcom will provide customers worldwide “with an enhanced selection of products,” including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Smart, and leading-edge RoboSwitch and StrataConnect Ethernet devices.
Vince Brocato, Broadcom senior director, global channel, said that Mouser’s semiconductor-centric marketing and search engine optimization (SEO) capabilities make Mouser “an ideal choice as our e-commerce distributor," he said.
He added that Broadcom’s new relationship with Mouser will allow the chipmaker to expand its customer base and “continue to scale our platform offerings."
Mouser, based in Mansfield, Texas, is a subsidiary of TTI Inc. and is part of Berkshire Hathaway family of companies. Mouser.com has more than 4 million products online from more than 500 manufacturers. Mouser publishes multiple catalogs per year.
Broadcom, a fabless semiconductor company, is based in Irvine, Calif.
