Tridonic Rolls Out LED Drivers that Combine Emergency and Normal Lighting Modes

08 June 2016

Austrian lighting gear house Tridonic GmbH & Co. KG has introduced new light- emitting diode (LED) drivers that combine both normal functionality with emergency lighting modes in one unit.

The drivers allow lighting designers the ability to save space in luminaire products, as both emergency lighting and normal lighting can be performed with just one device instead of two. The LED drivers provide 45 W in normal operation, and the integrated battery system produces up to 4 W of emergency lighting power. Emergency lighting is monitored via a digital addressable lighting interface (DALI) that is centrally monitored.

The new drivers are compatible with Tridonic’s EXCITE series of LED drivers, allowing these new drivers into any current installation.

Tridonic offers the drivers in two versions: a built-in design that saves space in a luminaire, and a strain-relief version that supports a wide range of LED modules with external LED drivers that operates with plug-in remote batteries.
