Coilcraft is introducing its XEL40xx Series of low-loss power inductors at the Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC 2016) in Long Beach, CA. The XEL40xx Series is offered with lower inductance values that have been fully optimized for high-frequency applications. The series also offers extremely low DCR (as low as 2.5 mΩ) and ultra-low AC losses, resulting in the highest efficiency across a range of frequencies (2 to 5+ MHz). The inductors are offered with current ratings as high as 28.5 A, and their soft saturation characteristics can withstand high current spikes.

They feature RoHS-compliant tin-silver over copper terminations and are halogen free. The XEL4014 and XEL4020 models are qualified to AEC-Q200 Grade 1 standards (-40° to +125 °C ambient), making them suitable for automotive and other harsh-environment applications.
