Molded Power Inductors Certified for Use in Automotive Applications

05 April 2016

Pulse Electronics Power BU has launched a new series of molded power inductors designed to work with high-current, non-isolated DC/DC converters and voltage regulators in automotive applications.

The PA434X series expands upon Pulse’s lineup of power inductors currently in its portfolio and comprises six inductor sizes with profiles as low as 2.0 mm and footprints ranging in size from 6 x 6mm to 17 x 17mm. The inductors also include the AEC-200 qualification so the devices can be used with automotive radios, USB chargers, navigation systems and backup cameras.

The molded power inductors can also be used for light-emitting diode (LED) brake lights, LED daytime running lights and LED accent lighting, Pulse says. Furthermore, because the inductors include RoHS compliance, the PA434X series can also be used in mobile computing, laptops, LCD displays, computer servers, handheld devices, networking, LED lighting and portable POS systems.
