Ironwood Rolls 0.3mm Pitch GT Socket

23 September 2015

Ironwood Electronics has announced an extension of its GT-BGA socket product line with the launch of the GT-BGA368 and GT-BGA1800, developed for 0.3mm pitch devices. The GT product line uses a unique contact technology at an extremely low cost. GT is a new elastomer technology that has silver particles held in conductive column-like buttons, embedded in a non-conductive polyamide substrate.

The GT product offers high compliance and extreme temperature ranges. It is available for all package types including BGA, LGA, QFN, and PoP with pitches from 0.3mm to 1.27mm.

Features include contact resistance of <30 mOhms, bandwidth >75GHz @-1dB (simulated), force of 50-80grams per contact, operating temperatures of -55 to 160°C and >1000 Insertion/Extraction cycles.

GT sockets are small footprint sockets and compatible with the GHz elastomer and spring pin socket lines.
