Nokia 3100 Mobile Phone Teardown

14 July 2004
The following is an overview of a teardown analysis conducted by IHS Technology Teardown Services.

  • Design is not groundbreaking in comparison with other models analyzed recently
  • Very discrete solution.
  • Uses a TX RF SAW filter for the EGSM band which is typically not necessary.
  • Uses a VCTCXO as opposed to a MHz crystal. Most GSM designs have migrated to a high-stability MHz crystal which is 60% less versus a VCTCXO.
  • Tri-Band GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz)
  • Market release 2H 2003
