AMETEK Powervar launches FortaGrid three-phase rackmount UPS for edge and distributed IT

26 June 2026

AMETEK Powervar, a developer of power quality and backup power solutions, has launched the FortaGrid three‑Phase Rackmount UPS, a high-efficiency, rack-integrated power protection platform designed to deliver data center‑grade performance in edge, micro data center and distributed IT environments.

Built to support the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) workloads and distributed infrastructure, FortaGrid provides high‑efficiency power protection that enables organizations to improve uptime and deploy confidently without major facility upgrades.

Engineered with true online double conversion, FortaGrid delivers clean, reliable power, strong overload performance and industry‑leading efficiency in a 19‑inch rack form factor, allowing customers to increase power density and simplify retrofits within existing environments.

Available in low and high-voltage configurations, FortaGrid supports 5 kVA to 40 kVA, enabling consistent, standardized power infrastructure across distributed deployments.

“Customers are under pressure to support higher-density IT and AI-driven workloads without taking on disruptive facility upgrades,” said Bryan Kraemer, engineering manager at AMETEK Powervar. “FortaGrid was designed for that reality: it brings scalable, rack-integrated UPS protection closer to the load so teams can expand capacity, protect uptime and keep deployments moving.”

“Edge and distributed infrastructure are redefining how and where power is deployed,” said Sam Hughes, AMETEK Powervar’s division vice president and business unit manager. “FortaGrid brings data center-class performance into a compact platform, giving customers the flexibility to scale quickly, deploy efficiently and maintain uptime in increasingly demanding environments.”
