SMT microminiature tactile switch

21 May 2026

The TCS43 is a microminiature surface mount technology (SMT) tactile switch designed by SCHURTER for high-performance applications requiring compact size, reliability and precise haptic feedback. With a footprint of just 4.2 mm × 3.2 mm and a low profile of 2.5 mm height, it enables space-efficient PCB layouts without compromising usability. Source: SCHURTERSource: SCHURTER

The switch offers three actuation force options (180 gf, 250 gf, 400 gf; equivalent to 1.76 N to 3.92 N), allowing engineers to fine-tune the user experience depending on application requirements. Its mechanical lifetime of up to 100,000 cycles ensures long-term reliability, even in demanding environments.

Electrical performance supports low-power designs (10 µA to 50 mA, 1 to 12 V DC), while contact resistance remains ≤100 mΩ for stable signal integrity. The device operates reliably across a wide temperature range (-40° C to 90° C), making it suitable for both consumer and medical applications.

Applications

Typical use cases include user interfaces such as on/off switching, menu navigation and parameter selection in high-end consumer electronics, home automation systems, internet of things (IoT) devices and medical equipment (e.g., blood pressure monitors, ventilators).

The TCS43 combines compact design, robust performance and flexible actuation characteristics making it an ideal choice for next-generation interface solutions.
