Keysight Technologies Inc. will demonstrate at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2026 trade show testing capabilities aligned with low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite deployments including Starlink direct-to-cell technologies.
The demo will include lab-based validation of new radio non-terrestrial networks (NR-NTN) devices as these technologies become more intertwined with 5G as well as future 6G networks, chipset and device vendors.
Satellite systems in LEO present different requirements for cellular connectivity including:
- Rapid motion
- Frequent handovers
- Dynamic link conditions
- Stringent positioning requirements
About the Demo
It is harder to test SATCOM capabilities without early development and the need for lab-based methods help assess mobility, service continuity and throughput performance that can only be tested in the lab, Keysight said.
Keysight’s NTN Network Emulator Solutions can recreate LEO satellite characteristics in a controlled lab environment. At MWC, the demonstration will ingrate the emulator with Samsung’s NR-NTN modem to validate satellite and device mobility, service continuity and MIMO configurations that align with Starlink deployment scenarios.
