While CES 2026 may be over, the impact of the devices and applications unveiled will likely continue to make waves throughout the year. That includes Orbbec’s unveiling of two stereo 3D cameras used for harsh environments and robotics.
The company’s Gemini 305 is designed for robotic wrist mounting for close-range manipulation. The camera supports 4 cm minimum working distance, 4-100 cm depth range and sub-millimeter accuracy at 15 cm.
The stereo 3D camera provides real-time megapixel depth and color output, global-shutter stereo design and depth-color with a field of view (FOV) of 88° x 65°.
"Every degree of visual coverage at the wrist translates directly to more agile robot performance," said Mike McSweeney, VP of sales at Orbbec. "Gemini 305's close-range capabilities and flexible imaging modes make it ideal for small-part recognition and humanoid robotics."
The second stereo 3D camera, called Gemini 345Lg, is an industrial-grade outdoor vision device for harsh environments. The features of this camera include:
- IP67 protection
- -20° C to 65° C operation
- Dual-mode depth FOV up to 104° × 87°
- GMSL2 connectivity.
Orbbec said it tested eight units simultaneously on Nvidia’s Jetson AGX Orin with precise synchronization.
