Robot bartender uses AI to mix custom drinks, remember orders at CES 2026

13 January 2026

An artificial intelligence (AI) powered robotic bartender that automates cocktail prep while also personalizing drinks based on customer history has been developed by the tech firm Barmen and Launched at this year's CES.

Designed to tackle persistent challenges in the hospitality industry — such as labor shortages, inconsistent drink quality and long service times, among others — the aptly named AI Barmen features a robotic arm that mixes a variety of cocktails with precision.

Additionally, the system also manages inventory autonomously, thus reducing waste and improving stock accuracy.

The AI Barmen, which was designed to operate independently, only requires a standard electrical outlet to run and does not need a continuous water supply, thereby making it appropriate for use in bars, hotels, airports, restaurants and event venues.

Further, because AI Barmen operates independently, human staff can turn their attention to the customers rather than focusing on repetitive tasks.

The AI Barmen made its debut at CES 2026, the consumer electronics show held January 6 - 9, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
