MWC 2025: VoLTE gives a voice to IoT devices

20 February 2025

European internet of things (IoT) connectivity provider floLIVE has introduced its global voice over LTE (VoLTE) service that enables audible inbound and outbound communications with IoT devices.

The company will demonstrate the technology at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona, Spain.

The technology is compliant with eCall standards in regulated and non-regulated markets. The VoLTE service supports calls for emergency and support scenarios as well as operations using VoLTE or circuit switched technologies for communication in a range of environments.

The goal is to provide a layer of low cost and reliable voice services to the IoT infrastructure. The “always connected” service can become an urgent line of communication in use cases such as:

  • Lifts and elevators
  • Parking garages
  • Vehicles
  • Healthcare fall detection
  • Home security

The VoLTE service is integrated with floLIVE’s connectivity management platform (CMP) that provides control over configuration, billing and reporting options as well as event-based triggers.

Mobile World Congress 2025 takes place March 3-6 in Barcelona, Spain.
