CES 2025: Precise navigation by a two-chip, nine-axis sensor solution

07 January 2025

The demand for accurate positioning is becoming a staple for a range of applications like wearables, mobile devices and augmented/virtual reality devices.

TDK Corp. is looking to improve positioning accuracy in next-generation devices with its two-chip nine-axis sensor solution that integrated a six-axis IMU and a TMR-based three-axis magnetometer with on-chip sensor fusion software and calibration software.

Called PositionSense, the two-chip solution also features:

  • TDK on-chip sensor software
  • TDK off-chip software
  • Fully synchronized IMU
  • Compass solution
  • Strong magnetic sock resilience
  • Low power

As navigation solutions get added to other mobile devices outside of smartphones, accurate positioning will be needed for consumers to accurately get from location to location. This solution is targeted at these next-generation devices.

CES 2025 takes place Jan. 7-10, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
