Qorvo has introduced three monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) power amplifiers specifically designed for Ku-Band satellite communications (SATCOM) terminals.

The semiconductors are designed to enhance performance and efficiency in SATCOM uplink systems for high-speed communications in defense and aerospace applications.

The first MMIC power amp, QPA1314, operates in the 13.75 GHz to 14.5 GHz range that delivers saturated output power of 55 W and a linear power of 20 W with 25 dBC third-order intermodulation distortion products.

The second semiconductor, the QPA0016, is designed for SATCOM terminals requiring 15 W of output power.

The final amplifier, QPA0015, delivers 8 W of power for applications such as ground and mobile terminals.

Other features of the MMIC amplifiers include:

  • Operation in the 13.75 GHz to 14.6 GHz band
  • Provide up to 12% power-added efficiency
  • Compact packaging
  • Enhanced thermal management
