Avnet launches AMD Kria-based development kit

Global distributor Avnet Inc. has unveiled its latest K24 I/O development kit based on the AMD Kira system-on-module (SOM).

The kit is targeted for both professional developers and makers that need a versatile prototyping platform for edge solutions that need low power and latency over processor-based systems. Target applications include machine vision, healthcare, Ethernet gateways, EV charging, robotics, factory automation, industrial IoT, aerial systems and the smart home.

The 135 mm x 80 mm form factor board includes two Samtec AcceleRate HD connectors to mate with the SOM allowing users to evaluate the capabilities of the Kria K24 device, which features a custom-built Zynq UltraScale+ MpSoC device with a combination of peripherals.

  • HSIO expansion TXR2 x2
  • MikroE click expansion interface x2
  • PMOD Type 1A PL GPIO Interface
  • 10/100/1000 Ethernet with MAC ID
  • USB 2.0 Type-A
  • MicroSD card interface
  • USB-Type-C JTAG-UART interface
  • User slides switches and push button I/O
  • User RGB and monochrome LEDs
  • USB-Type-C power input (15V)
  • VBATT rechargeable battery solution
