Trident IoT has received approval by the Z-Wave Alliance to become an official Z-Wave device certification testing lab.
The certification allows Trident IoT to expand and diversify testing for Z-Wave and other platforms. The company said this will allow for holistic support for device makers to bring new IoT products to market.
The move comes as the company has announced the completion of a $10 million fundraising round led by Todd Pedersen, founder of Vivint and Vivint Solar, who will also join the Trident IoT board of directors.
Trident develops Z-Wave silicon products and development consulting services for radio frequency technology. The company said the funding will help to expand its silicon/hardware market as well as increase its engineering support and the newly announced certification preparation services from Z-Wave as well as Zigbee, Thread, Matter, LoRa and more.
Additionally, Trident said the investment will help grow its portfolio to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) division that will create purpose-built AI tools for the IoT market.
