Arctic Semiconductor has unveiled what it claims to be the first 4x4 low-power transceiver that offers multi-stage up and down conversion from digital to radio frequency (RF) and RF to digital.
Called SilverWings, the low power, all-in-one RF transceiver integrates high-performance analog capabilities with high-bandwidth features. The device can be used in a wide range of applications such as wireless radios, satellite communication, repeaters, fixed-wireless access devices, user equipment, medical devices and instrumentation.
SilverWings features an RF gain stage to facilitate ultra-fast automatic gain control (AGC) to counter interference with a comprehensive suite of functionalities for full up conversion and down conversion.
The IC showcases more than 60% reduction in power consumption compared to other offerings in the market while also integrating RF gain with gain control in the receive and transmit paths.
Arctic said the IC has a calibration free architecture that saves significant cost at development and production stages.
