Chip startup Menta will launch its MOSAICS-LP platform and present the technology for the first time at the upcoming Embedded World 2024.
The platform is aimed at reducing chip design and production by a factor of four and cutting cost by a factor of 10 compared to monolithic solutions, Menta said. The platform also helps to reduce waste and resource consumption.
Menta said the CHIPS and Science Act is focused on bringing domestic semiconductor manufacturing back to the U.S. The European Chips Act is also focused on the same goal but for Europe. But to accomplish this, technological and innovation capacity will need to be strengthened.
The MOSAICS-LP platform would allow manufacturers to increase its chip design capacity. Additionally, in Europe it will help in its objective to produce and design 20% of the world’s ICs.
"We participated in the debates during the elaboration of the CHIPS ACT,” said Vincent Markus, CEO of Menta. “Now, it is our responsibility to constantly push back the boundaries of the microelectronics industry, representing technological excellence in the world's most ambitious region about semiconductors. Also, it is our role to promote European chiplet industry doing so. Our MOSAICS-LP breakthrough is the fruit of the work of our teams, developed with the CEA-List, and we are proud of it.”
