European electric and autonomous vehicle startup Zeekr recently tested the urban version of its NZP system in Shanghai, China.
The technology with integrated Mobileye SuperVision uses computer vision, machine learning, mapping and data analysis to deliver real-time environment data to vehicles.
Zeekr tested its technology during a rainy night in Shanghai during rush-hour traffic. There were no takeovers throughout the process. Zeekr plans to expand its highway NZP platform to 60 cities across China by the end of March.
After that, Zeekr plans to begin expanding the testing for its urban NZP system.
In the video, a safety driver begins the journey before the autonomous technology takes over. The system must drive through rainy conditions, yield to pedestrians, navigate difficult turns, yield to bicyclists and navigate through crowded intersections with many vehicles and pedestrians.
