Infineon unveils Bluetooth module for LE-LR use cases

Infineon Technologies AG has launched a Bluetooth module designed to support the entire spectrum of Bluetooth low-energy long-range (LE-LR) use cases like industrial internet of things (IIoT), smart home, asset tracking, beacons and sensors and medical devices.

Called the CYW20822-P4TAI040, the module features connectivity and performance for these applications and is certified for regulatory testing and certification processes.

Other features of the module include:

  • Prolonged battery life in portable devices
  • Power consumption of 1.3 mA and 3mA
  • Sleep current consumption of 2 μA with 32 KB RAM retention
  • Zero programming
  • Compact design
  • Support for 1M, 2M and coded PHY

“This new module delivers low power, long range, and excellent RF performance to meet our customers evolving needs,” said Anurag Chauhan, director of marketing for the Bluetooth product line at Infineon Technologies.
