The power tool market continues to go through a transformation as professionals and consumers require handy, energy efficient tools that provide comfort and elevated results. With the advancements of battery, motor and internet of things technologies; these tools are more powerful, connected and longer lasting than ever before. Battery operated tools are starting to overtake all industries as they replace air, pneumatic, AC tools to provide better efficiency and higher performance where it matters most. As innovation continues within the power tool industry, the components within the tools have to be up for the challenge as well.
As a leading innovator of device and module solutions, OMRON continues to develop and support a line-up of switches that best fit the needs of power tool manufacturers. Our switches provide the durability and performance needed to ensure that the power tool will operate properly throughout the life of the tool.
In this webinar, OMRON will introduce several of our key switch products that support the market, in particular: trigger switch, sealed basic switch and tactile switches.
Trigger switch – C3AW and C3BW Series
OMRON’s trigger switches, C3AW and C3BW series, are designed for DC brushless power tools with key performance in dust and shock resistance, durability and space savings. There are two types of trigger switches within the C3AW series: C3AW-1A type without power contact (only signal output) and C3AW-2B type with power contact for fail-safe. These switches provide variable speed output. The C3BW Series is an ON/OFF trigger switch with power contact for high capacity switching. We are able to switch high current safely in a sealed structure due to our internal design structure that incorporates a magnet. It is also possible to modify some parts of Trigger SW, like color and/or shape of Trigger cap, operating characteristics, cable length, connector type and so on.
Sealed basic switch– D2EW
OMRON produces several sealed basic switches and today we highlight the D2EW series, which has several key features that align well with power tool requirements. This switch can support a wide range of applications where waterproof, dustproof, impact and shock resistance is required due to our IP67 and sliding contact structure.
Tactile switch – B3Sx
OMRON has a strong tactile switch offering and many of which have several key features that align well with power tool requirements. There are many different types of tactile switches that can be used throughout the tools for function switching and power control. They range in various types from sealed/unsealed, through hole/SMT and small stroke to large stroke.
OMRON’s upcoming webinar scheduled for January 25, 2024, will explore OMRON’s trigger, sealed basic and tactile switch solutions for the power tool market.
