Video: ProVolt series multi-voltage actuator with optional battery backup

24 October 2023

The new ProVolt (PV) series multiple voltage quarter-turn rotary electric actuator was designed and developed by Indelac Controls as a single actuator that allows users the capability to easily utilize any one of five voltage inputs with the flip of an internal switch. Input voltages include: 115 V AC, 230 V AC, 24 V AC, 24 V DC or 12 V DC.

This new PV series can operate loads from 400 inch/lbs to 1,500 inch/lbs and can also be ordered with an optional battery backup feature. When installed, the actuator’s internal battery will provide power to the motor in the event of an external power failure.

The actuator can be configured in the field for FAIL OPEN or FAIL CLOSE. Switching from external power to battery power is seamless — when the external power source fails, the internal transfer circuit switches to battery power automatically without any operator intervention.

This unit can be ordered as a standard OPEN/CLOSE actuator or with a modulating option for precise valve position control using 4 mA to 20 mA, 0 V to 10 V or 1 V to 5 V external input signal.
