New software tool automates PCIe 6.0 base specification testing

25 August 2023

Teledyne LeCroy announces support for PCI Express 6.0 electrical base specification testing and validation with QPHY-PCIE6-TX-RX fully automated test software, which also includes base and compliance testing for all previous PCIe generations 5.0, 4.0, 3.0, 2.0 and 1.0.

This new solution can measure transmitter equalization (Tx EQ) settings, with results and methodologies aligned with current SigTest AC fit methods. Signal-to-noise-and-distortion ratio (SNDR) is measured with robust oscilloscope noise compensation and powerful signal analysis waveform views. Graphical representation of SNDR calculation aids in identifying noise and nonlinearity root-causes.

The software makes the receiver calibration process seamlessly simple and quick by simultaneously executing multiple instances of Seasim to reduce the time required to complete the calibration process. Jitter measurements are made as per the methodology defined in the PCIe 6.0 base specification. Comprehensive jitter breakdown enables deeper analysis and troubleshooting.
