Danisense has launched a current transducer aimed for automotive electric vehicle (EV) test benches and battery testing and evaluation systems.

The announcement was made at this week’s Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC) in Florida.

The transducer features a large aperture of 41.2 mm and enables power cables with large power connectors to be easily fitted to EV test benches, allowing for quick changeovers.

The large aperture helps test bench operators with issues when the power connectors fitted to the power cables are bigger than the diameter of the cable. This makes it difficult to fit them in the aperture of the current transducer and often requires additional work to solve the issue.

The DN1000ID device offers a compromise between the 100 A nominal current and the aperture size, Danisense said.

Other features of the DN1000ID transducer include:

  • High stability closed loop fluxgate technology
  • A linearity of 1 ppm
  • 5 ppm offset
  • Compact aluminum housing

Target applications for the transducer include power measurement and power analysis, MPS for particles accelerators, gradient amplifiers for MRI devices, precision drives as well as current calibration purposes.
