Newark now stocking 100 reed relays from Pickering

19 October 2022

Newark, a division of Avnet, has expanded its portfolio with Pickering Electronics with a new distribution agreement that will include more than 100 types of reed relays.

The electromechanical portfolio of reed relays is used in:

  • Semiconductor testing
  • ATE systems
  • Test and measurement equipment
  • Instrumentation
  • Electric vehicle testing
  • Renewable energy applications

The reed relays are designed for a long life and high performance and are tested 100% for all operating parameters and are 100% thermal cycle tested from -20° C to 85° C. The process has repeated three times to stress test the manufacturing processes and are hermetically sealed preventing contact oxidization.

Many of these reed relay devices are ultracompact to enable designers to fit up to 85% more relays on a printed circuit board compared to common industry standard-sized relays. This allows engineers to have more switching options when designing test systems.
