TE Connectivity has signed an agreement to acquire the antennas business from Laird Connectivity.
The deal will complement TE’s connectivity product portfolio, particularly in the antenna and wireless solutions for internet of things (IoT) devices and edge access.
The acquisition will also expand TE’s engineering and manufacturing footprint in several market segments the company either plays in or has not previously.
TE said the deal will expand its antenna product family and advanced engineering capabilities, which it says is a critical milestone in its strategy to expand into IoT and edge markets.
The transaction is expected to close in late October.
