Nidec to use National Instruments’ big data analytics platform

15 September 2020

National Instruments’ OptimalPlus big data analytics platform has been selected by Nidec Small Precision Motor and Solutions business unit to help accelerate production introduction and manufacturing efficiency.

The test equipment platform will help Nidec to extract the insights needed from manufacturing data to overcome quality challenges. This will help accelerate new product ramp up as well as customer time-to-market and efficiency, according to National Instruments.

National Instruments said that increasing demand for product reliability as well as for smart consumer electronics and self-driving cars has presented new challenges for manufacturers as mechanical and electronic components and manufacturing has become more complex. Big data can help understand where product issues may be and address them, which then accelerates new product development.
