Lumileds’ LEDs get performance boost for flux and efficacy

31 July 2020

Lumileds has upgraded both the flux and efficacy of its Luxeon 5050 light emitting diodes (LEDs) to meet demands for streetlight sand high-bay fixtures.

The typical performance is now 675 lumens with 172 lumens/W in full bin shipments and higher performance is available.

The Luxeon 5050 LEDs are already installed in millions of fixtures globally for cities and businesses and the manufacturing capabilities of the technology allow for 684 lumens with two lowest Vf bins for higher light output.

The Luxeon 5050 LEDs are hot color tested to ensure the LEDs fall in the specified color bins at typical application conditions of 85° C. The LEDs are offered in color temperatures from 2200 K to 6500 K at 70, 80 and 90 CRI and with 6 V and 24 V options. It is an ideal drop-in replacement for emitters with industry standard 5.0 x 5.0 footprint.
