The Luxeon V2 LED module. Source: LumiledsLumileds has introduced a light emitting diode (LED) module that is designed for a variety of applications from fixture, to streetlights, sports lighting and portable lights.
The Luxeon V2 uses a 2 mm x 2 mm chip scale package in a 3.5 mm x 3.5 mm standard package and 99% of the light is forward directed, resulting in better light from a compact source.
The output and efficiency of the module at 4000 L, 70 CRI is 315 lumens at 160 lm/W when driven at 700 mA. The CSP die offers high drive current capability while maintaining efficiency across the operating range. At 1 A, the Luxeon V2 delivers 150 lm/W and more than 10% of flux than similar 2 mm offerings on the market, Lumileds said.
The module also has a Lambertian radiation pattern profile to leverage the existing optics ecosystem. Lumileds said this allows fixture manufacturers the ability to improve time-to-market while improving performance.
