Misty Robotics has added a temperature screening solution to its Misty II robot in order to help screen for COVID-19 patients without any human interaction.

The Temp Screening Assistant can take the temperature of employees, customers and visitors in an automated, contactless and touchless solution for screening and detecting individuals with an elevated temperature and other health risk factors associated with the pandemic.

This helps companies reduce the risk to frontline staff and the elimination of surface hygiene concerns associated with touch-based systems, the company said.

Misty II can determine if a person is a risk to others in a company or business immediately as well as the ability to not store screening data to promote privacy.

Beyond just screening for COVID-19, the robot can be used to greet customers and perform the functions of a general office assistant or any of the assignments found in the Misty Robotics Solution Hub. New skills for the robot can also be learned via the company’s in-house software developers.
