TomTom expands maps deal with Verizon

16 April 2020

TomTom has expanded its partnership with Verizon to integrate its Maps APIs and software development kits (SKDs) into its location services.

The agreement will expand the existing agreement with TomTom providing location-based services to enhance Verizon’s current suite of location-based data, navigation and intelligence. In the last quarter of 2019, the companies announced an innovation project using Verizon’s 5G ultra-wideband and TomTom HD maps to make intersections safer for emergency vehicles to navigate through.

The companies said the partnership could make it easier to access the Maps APIs and SDKs in current and future applications for connected devices.
