Automotive-grade metallized polypropylene film capacitors launched

The R41T and T76H electronic components. Source: KemetThe R41T and T76H electronic components. Source: KemetKemet Corp. has introduced two new automotive-grade series AEC-Q200 qualified metallized polypropylene film capacitors.

The R41T and T76H series can withstand harsh environments in order to meet the stringent requirements of the latest automotive applications including electric vehicle powertrains and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

The electronic components have a 125° C maximum operating temperature and exceeds humidity temperature-bias-humidity tests. The capacitors support the design of high-performance, high-reliability circuits such as those based on wide band gap (WBG) semiconductor solutions.

The WBG market is expected to grow significantly, reaching a forecasted $1.8 billion in 2024, an increase of 33.4% over a five-year period, according to Market Study Report.
