Thin battery enables tablet design for medical devices

17 January 2019

Sager Electronics, a distributor of interconnect, power and electromechanical components, is now stocking RRC’s FlatPAQ lithium-ion smart battery pack.

The new RRC2130 battery is just 8 mm thick and is designed to fit into very slim devices, including the back of a PC display or on a PC board, to allow developers to make a tablet-like design possible for medical or industrial applications.

The RRC2130 FlatPAQ battery pack has an optimized capacity of 3,880 milli-amp hours (mAh) at a nominal voltage of 7.6 V. The overall energy density is 29.5 watt hours (Wh) for extended power and runtime. The RRC2130 complies with the System Management Bus (SMBus) communication standard version 1.1 as well as the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) standard, which uses optimized charging profiles based on temperatures.

The RRC2130 FlatPAQ lithium-ion smart battery pack is in stock at Sager Electronics.
