Google Maps Now Directs Users to Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

23 October 2018

Google has updated its Maps application to include accurate information about electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

When searching for keywords such as “EV charging stations,” Google Maps will display the nearest supported stations in order for EV drivers to make the best decisions while planning a route or where they might find support for their car.

Google Maps will also give detailed information about the business: where it is located, the types of ports available, charging speeds and how many ports are there. Also included will be photos, ratings, reviews and questions.

Google Maps supports the following charging stations:

  • Global: Tesla, ChargePoint
  • U.S.: SemaConnect EVgo, Blink
  • U.K.: Chargemaster, Pod Point
  • AU/NZ: Chargefox
