Protek Devices has introduced an ultra-low-capacitance transient voltage suppressor array (TVS array) for circuit protection in popular data interface connections. The very low capacitance for the new PLR0521U TVS array is 0.8 pF max.

The PLR0521U protects these interfaces from the damaging effects of electrostatic discharge (ESD) and electrical fast transients (EFT). It meets or exceeds several IEC standards. The TVS array has a low clamping voltage and protects one unidirectional line. Peak pulse power is 80 W (typical at 8/20 microseconds). The rated standoff voltage is 5.0. It is also RoHS and REACH compliant.

The PLR0521U TVS array is available and is provided in a molded DFN-2 package with an approximate weight of only 2 milligrams. Other key mechanical characteristics include lead-free Ni/Pd/A plating and a solder reflow temperature of (pure-tin — Sn, 100) 260° C to 270° C. It has a flammability rating of UL 94V-0. It is delivered on 8 mm tape and reel, per EIA standard 481, in minimum quantities of 10,000.

Further information, including pricing, is available at Protek Devices.
