Future Electronics and Microsemi Corporation have announced the Future-designed Creative Development Board, featuring Microsemi’s IGLOO™2 field programmable gate array (FPGA) or SmartFusion™2 system-on-a-chip (SoC) FPGA and Microsemi’s LX series power devices. The Future - Microsemi Creative Development Board boasts a 25k logic element (LE) FPGA, offering a low cost of entry for both software and hardware engineers who want to evaluate and implement their own unique designs.
The Future-Microsemi Creative Development Board features either an IGLOO2 or SmartFusion2 25k LE device, DDR2 and SPI flash memory, delta sigma ADC, USB and expansion connectors. The USB interface allows one to communicate, program and power the board. Users can add functionality via one of three expansion connectors: an Arduino connector, a MikroBUS click connector or a PMOD connector. Microsemi’s LX7167 is an efficient power switcher that provides the board all the power necessary for a variety of applications.
Microsemi’s IGLOO2 FPGAs and SmartFusion2 SoC FPGAs are ideal to implement a wide array of functions, including PCIe Gen2 control plane, image processing, motor control, I/O expansion and bridging. They also address fundamental requirements for advanced security, high reliability and low power in industrial, military, aviation, communications and medical applications.
The Future-Microsemi Creative Development Board retails for $49.95 and is available in two versions for immediate delivery. Ordering numbers are: FUTUREM2GL-EVB (IGLOO2-based board) and FUTUREM2SF-EVB (SmartFusion2-based board).
