Toshiba Unveils Read-Intensive Enterprise SAS SSD

Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. has introduced a very read-intensive enterprise SAS solid state drive (SSD) designed to work with application intensive workloads, such as data warehousing, Web servers, media streaming and video on demand (VOD).

Source: Toshiba The PX04SL series is available in 2TB and 4TB capacities and features a read performance of 270K IOPS2 for high-density storage for efficient data throughput to deliver high performance, reliability and endurance, Toshiba says.

The SSD series is Toshiba’s third generation SAS SSD and Toshiba is promoting the device as part of its vertical integration in order to help OEMs minimize total cost of ownership. The SSD is available now.
