Supporting the new Universal Serial Bus (USB) Type-C connector and cabling specification, Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc., has launched a series of 28 V load switch ICs. The TCK30x series can automatically isolate a system from a faulty source or load.
Protectio
Toshiba's TCK30x series load switch ICs support USB Type-C; can automatically isolate a system from a faulty source or load.n features incorporated into the load switch IC series include over-voltage lock out (OVLO) and reverse-current blocking functions. The ICs support an auto-power source select mode, without the need for external control, and offer a daisy chain connection (Fixed Input Priority). These features enable the TCK30x series to be utilized as switching solutions for large capacity power supplies.

Key Features
The TCK30x series load switch ICs support input voltages to 28 V and maximum output current of 3 A. The switches provide a low 73 mΩ on-resistance (for VIN= 4.5 V). Protection functions provided include over-voltage lockout (OVLO), reverse-current blocking, thermal shutdown, and under-voltage lockout (UVLO). (OVLO cuts the output [VOUT] when the input voltage exceeds a predefined value. UVLO cuts the output [VOUT] when the input voltage falls below a predefined value.) The parts in this series come in a 0.5mm pitch WCSP package measuring 1.5 mm x 1.5 mm.
Pricing and Availability
Toshiba's new load switch ICs are available now at the budgetary price of approximately $0.033 for low volumes. Please contact your local Toshiba Sales Office for samples.
