The iC-MH16 one-chip magnetic sensor solution targets industrial, automotive and medical applications. Featuring a diametrically magnetized permanent magnet, the 5mm x 5mm device creates a robust, universal encoder for motor commutation and positioning.
The iC-MH16 is used in industrial, automotive and medical apps.
Also featured are a Hall-sensor array, signal amplification control, a FlexCount interpolator for incremental and latency-free commutation signals, integrated RS422 line drivers, and a serial SSI/BiSS interface.
All interpolation factors from one to 1024, representing resolution of four to 4096 angular steps per turn are delivered. The edge rate of 16 MHz enables applications with rotation speed to 200,000 rpm and UVW commutation signals are available for any pole pair count ranging from one to 16. Signals are implemented as configurable RS422 line drivers to suit a variety of line lengths and transmission rates.
A synchronous serial SSI and a bidirectional BiSS-C interface are also integrated for data output. An automatic gain control compensates for Hall-sensor variations based on fluctuations in the ambient temperature or changes in distance to the magnet. Supply voltage is of 5 V (±10%) within an operating temperature range of -40 to 125°C.
