A result, however, is a decrease in component strength. Kyocera Connector Products announce the 5857 series space-saving board-to-board connectors with a fine pitch of 0.35mm, stacking height of 0.7mm and width of 1.9mm.

Given their dimensions, the connectors achieve robustness by covering both ends with metals, which prevents connectors from misalignment damage. The devices feature high contact reliability against vibrations or drops.

Applications include wearables, smartphones, tablet PCs, digital still cameras, digital audio players and a variety of other electronic equipment.
