Panasonic has unveiled one of the industry’s first electromagnetic noise suppression and heat diffusion integrated sheets designed for thermal and electromagnetic noise (EMC) reduction in thin mobile terminals, on-board equipment and industrial equipment.
Addressing the challenge of heat and noise created by semiconductors and batteries in mobile terminals and on-board equipment, the Panasonic “sheets” are flexible, thin and fit into small spaces. The company claims that the product has the highest level of heat diffusion properties in the industry. As electronics continue to shrink, greater countermeasures on heat and noise are required. Specs include thermal conductivity (a-b side) of 1600W/m K, a frequency of 500MHz to 6GHz and a temperature range from -40°C to 125°C. Dimensions are 60mm × 110mm (length x width), with a thickness of 75μm and 100μm.
Features include:
- Dispersion/compression processing technology that allows a high-density orientation of homogeneous magnetic metal particles into resins
- Lamination technology to improve heat diffusion and noise suppression properties
Full-scale sample delivery is planned to start in September 2017 and order placement is expected to begin in September 2018.
