Distributor Digi-Key has signed a global distribution agreement with analog semiconductor supplier SiTime, the companies announced.
SiTime, a fabless semiconductor company based in Sunnyvale, Calif., designs and sells silicon oscillators and clock generators used as drop-in replacements for legacy quartz crystal oscillator products. The company has developed core technical expertise in micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) technology, analog CMOS circuit design and development, and cost-effective assembly and test.
Mark Zack, Digi-Key vice president, global semiconductor product, said that SiTime’s MEMS-based timing products provide high performance, reliability, and cost reduction in timing applications. The products also offer programmability, enabling each device to be configured to the customer’s exact specifications for parameters such as frequency, operating voltage, and amount of spread spectrum.
The products provide “value for our customers and we are pleased to offer these quality products to our worldwide customer base,” said Zack.
Piyush Sevalia, executive vice president of marketing at SiTime, said Digi-Key is an “ideal partner” for SiTime’s products because of the distributor’s broad global customer base, design support, and logistics.
