Marvell completes Celestial acquisition

05 February 2026

Marvell Technology Inc. has completed its acquisition of Celestial AI that will expand Marvell’s optical connectivity capabilities for use in next-generation AI and cloud data center architectures.

Celestial AI’s Photonic Fabric optical interconnect technology supports high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity across large-scale AI deployments. This will position the combined company to scale up the interconnect market, Marvell said.

“Celestial AI will enable us to advance Marvell’s long-term strategy to deliver the industry’s most comprehensive data infrastructure platforms,” said Matt Murphy, chairman and CEO of Marvell. “As AI systems continue to scale in size and complexity, customers require innovative connectivity solutions. The addition of Celestial AI’s Photonic Fabric technology platform complements Marvell’s existing portfolio and enhances our ability to address the most demanding requirements of next-generation AI and cloud data center architectures.”

The move comes after Marvell in January of 2026 announced it was acquiring XConn Technologies to expand its switching portfolio through its PCIe and CXL products. That deal will augment Marvell’s Ultra Accelerator Link (UALink) devices for data centers.

Celestial AI’s team will be integrated into Marvell’s Data Center Group.
