Video: Laundry robot moves at a snail’s pace, but does the job

16 January 2026

CES 2026 is in the books, but the impact will likely last this year and for many years to come.

One of the major themes from CES this year was the rise of humanoid robots. Well, at least the demonstration of these humanoid robots.

Unfortunately, while they can accomplish some tasks, they have a long way to go.

Take this laundry robot from LG. It is so slow that it might take an entire day just to do a few loads of laundry. But the good news is that it does the job…eventually. It can take dirty clothes out of a hamper and put them in a washer.

It also can tidy up a bed and other jobs.

If someone were to go to work and not have any time crunch for the robot to do the laundry, it might be just fine. But if you need that pair of jeans washed in quick order, you are going to have to do it yourself.
