Fanuc launches new cleanroom-ready, food-grade robot

22 December 2025

Robot manufacturer Fanuc has introduced the latest model in its LR Mate industrial robot range for food and cleanroom applications.

According to its developers, the LR Mate 10-11A Food/Clean features a 10 kg payload and is compliant with ISO 4 Class cleanrooms, thus making it appropriate for use in highly controlled environments in industries like medical device manufacture, pharmaceutical, biotech, semiconductor, electronics, optics and laser.

Further, its use of food-grade lubricant ensures that it also meets strict food environment requirements, thereby minimizing the risk of contamination should there be accidental contact with food that would potentially lead to expensive product recalls.

Additionally, the LR Mate 10-11A Food/Clean robot is capable of withstanding harsh and frequent washdown procedures due to its IP67 ingress protection rating across its entire body, upper arm and wrist.

Additional features of the robot include a stainless steel flange, anti-rust bolts and a corrosion-resistant white epoxy coating. Likewise, it features speeds of up to 340°/s in the J3 axis (upper arm) and 800°/s in the J6 axis (wrist rotation).
