At IFA 2025, mobile photography accessory vendor ShiftCam launched a 240 mm, 10x periscope zoom lens that allows smartphone users to capture close-up photos from far distances.

Called the LensUltra Explorer Series, the zoom lens attaches to the back of a ShiftCam smartphone case and allows users to zoom in 10 times with clarity. The company said it could be used in a variety of situations like concerts, nature watching, sports and travel.

“Smartphones are now the world’s most important creative tool,” said Benson Chiu, CEO of ShiftCam. “With the Explorer Series, we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in mobile optics, giving creators reach that matches their vision.”

The periscope zoom lens allows users to:

  • Capture extreme details from afar
  • Achieve cinematic compression
  • Travel lighter than with heavy equipment
  • Attain edge-to-edge sharpness

The LensUltra Explore series also includes Planck, ShiftCam’s miniature solid-state drive. The 10 gram, smaller than a credit card SSD is available for the first time globally. The SSD has sustained write speeds of up to 1,050 MB/s, which enables direct ProRes Log and 4K/120 fps recordings from iPhone and Android devices without frame drops or overheating, ShiftCam said.

IFA 2025 takes place Sept. 5-9 in Berlin, Germany.
