High-precision Ethernet-based data acquisition with the new ibaN-2E interface card

09 September 2025

iba AG is expanding its portfolio of industrial measurement technology with a new interface card: the ibaN-2E, a PCIe card designed for precise, time-synchronized signal transmission and acquisition over Ethernet. It enables the seamless integration of ibaNet-E-capable devices as well as selected third-party hardware into the iba system.

The ibaN-2E card is equipped with two switched 1 GbE RJ45 ports. It supports highly accurate data transmission, delivering synchronization accuracy down to one microsecond and a data throughput of up to 750 Mbit/s within a dedicated iba network. At the same time, the ibaN-2E can also be operated using standard Ethernet infrastructure. Source: iba AGSource: iba AG

Seamless integration and high accuracy

The ibaN-2E card provides a future-proof solution for applications that demand maximum speed and precision. Integration into the iba system is seamless: users can configure signals via the familiar interface, monitor current bandwidths, and keep track of system status at all times. Up to four ibaN-2E cards can be installed within a single system and synchronized with each other.

The new interface card is ideally suited for dedicated data connectivity with components such as ibaM-COM, ibaNet-E-enabled PLC systems and other Ethernet-capable devices. Thanks to its low latency and high precision, it offers, when combined with other iba components, the perfect solution for modern industrial environments — from process monitoring to machine control.
