Ambiq Micro’s SoC family targets edge AI applications

Ambiq Micro Inc. has introduced an expansion to its Apollo5 system-on-chip (SoC) series that will allow wireless connectivity in edge AI applications.

The Apollo510B SoC integrates a dedicated 48 MHz network processor and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.4 radio that makes it applicable for always-on, intelligent and connected AI applications such as body-worn wearables and personal internet devices.

Other features inside the Apollo510B include:

  • Arm Cortex-M55 with Helium and turboSPOT
  • 64 KB I-cache
  • 64 LB D-cache
  • 3.75 MB system RAM
  • 4 MN embedded non-volatile memory
  • GPU with 2D/2.5D
  • High-fidelity audio support
  • Peripheral support for ADC, SPI, I2C, UART and USB 2.0

The graphic engine is designed for responsive visual sand is coupled with the Cortex-M55 for hardware-accelerated vector graphics, anti-aliasing, dithering, full alpha blending and memory-in-pixel display.
