ED2 Corporation unveils breakthrough RF platforms for defense, aerospace and wireless communications

11 July 2025

ED2 Corporation has announced a powerful suite of innovations that redefine the design and deployment of next-generation systems. Built on a foundation of low loss glass packaging, modular phased arrays and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven design tools, ED2’s technology portfolio delivers unmatched performance, scalability and speed to market for defense, satcom and telecom applications.

At the core is Advanced Glass Packaging Technology (AGPT) — a breakthrough interconnect platform that combines ultra-low-loss signal transmission with exceptional thermal stability and miniaturization. Ideal for radio frequency (RF), analog and mixed-signal multi-chip modules, AGPT is enabling new levels of performance in 5G/6G infrastructure and mission-critical defense systems. Complementing AGPT is StingArray, ED2’s modular phased array solution offering high-gain, low-SWaP beamforming with multi-band support. Designed for scalable integration across radar, satcom and electronic warfare platforms, StingArray delivers die-level RF performance in a compact SMT package — accelerating system development and field readiness. Custom solutions can be available.

Also announced is the FB010BW16SG Switched Filter Bank, available through RFMW. This agile filtering solution offers eight selectable bands from 2 GHz to 18 GHz, fast 20 ns switching and low insertion loss (~4 dB), supporting high-dynamic-range receivers and spectral agility for electronic warfare and wideband surveillance.

To streamline the RF design process, ED2 has launched an AI-powered online RF Cascade App, which leverages decades of academic and engineering expertise to enable rapid cascade creation with 30% to 50% faster design turnaround. Users can auto-select components from an integrated database, generate costed BOMs instantly and support workflows with real-time data capture — turning engineering insight into business value.

Underpinning these innovations is ED2’s fabless, design-first model, which minimizes capital expenditure and accelerates time-to-market by tapping a global network of foundries and OSATs. From concept to qualified parts, ED2 delivers a complete solution for agile, high frequency system development.

Use case highlights:

• Radar and electronic warfare (EW): StingArray phased arrays enable precision beamforming and multi-band agility for ground and airborne defense systems.

• 5G/6G infrastructure: AGPT supports high-density, miniaturized RF packaging for infrastructure and user equipment.

• Satcom and signal intelligence: ED2 platforms deliver secure, low-SWaP solutions for high-reliability communication in contested environments.

• Adaptive receivers: The FB010BW16SG enables rapid, programmable RF filtering in surveillance and EW front ends.

“This technology marks a turning point in the RF and wireless industry,” said Joel Blumke, CTO at ED2. “With AGPT and StingArray, we’re empowering our partners to deliver high-performance systems faster and with greater design freedom.”
