VESA approves Teledyne LeCroy DisplayPort 2.1 PHY compliance test specification software

17 June 2025

The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) has approved Teledyne LeCroy’s QualiPHY automated-compliance test solution for DisplayPort 2.1 source (Tx) and sink (Rx) testing, including all ultra-high bit rate (UHBR) data rates and all high bit rate (HBR) data rates. Teledyne LeCroy’s solution was approved based on extensive testing at DisplayPort PlugTest events attended by major end-product and test equipment (TE) vendors.

Teledyne LeCroy’s approved solution consists of:

  • QualiPHY compliance test automation software
  • WaveMaster 8,000 HD oscilloscope for source testing
  • Anritsu SQA-R MP1900A signal quality analyzer for sink testing
  • Wilder Technologies DPAC-CAM AUX controller to enable fully automated testing of multi-lane DisplayPort 2.1 devices Source: Teledyne LeCroySource: Teledyne LeCroy

“We appreciate Teledyne LeCroy’s continued commitment as a TE vendor to meet the needs of the latest DisplayPort 2.1 Compliance Test Specifications for both PHY and Link testing,” said Jim Choate, VESA’s compliance manager. “It is critical for TE vendors to support all the latest tests in order to ensure a robust DisplayPort ecosystem.”

Teledyne LeCroy’s VESA-approved compliance test solution is augmented by:

  • SDA Expert for DisplayPort software (SDAX-DP), which builds compliance test specification measurements and test point setup directly into the oscilloscope.
  • DisplayPort AUX Channel Trigger, Decode, Measurement and PHY Test software (DP-AUX TDMP), which turns the WaveMaster/SDA 8000HD into an AUX channel analyzer with the unique ability to trigger the oscilloscope on any link training message and at the same time capture the main link data at full sample rate.

“Teledyne LeCroy is proud to contribute to the newest compliance test specifications, and to provide the test solutions and updated Methods of Implementation (MOIs) necessary to advance DisplayPort adoption in the marketplace,” said Tyler Cox, vice president, general manager scopes/digitizers. “Teledyne LeCroy is also in the unique position of providing both the oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers required to test all layers of the DisplayPort PHY and protocol stack. We provide the most comprehensive solution for tracking down elusive DisplayPort Link-training Tunable PHY Repeater (LTTPR) interoperability failures that may occur in DisplayPort 2.1 designs.”
